Yikes! We're still having our prom night hung-overs but good thing that we still got our priorities straight. It was quite busy these days for we just had an oral defense of our study in our social research subject. Though, we have successfully edited the videos just last week, we had only this day to upload the videos of the different traditional games. We were all so excited about it that even we, ourselves, got individual copies of our videos. Video editing surely gives us all pleasure.

Well so much to blabber around, the group members originally planned on posting it to the host website of the project www.pioneerss.moe.edu.sg but the file sizes of each video file exceeded the limit (10 MB) that's why the members have decided to upload it through www.youtube.com under one of our group members account: marianazaljane - Flaire Jane Salvilla's youtube account. The videos were successfully uploaded this day through www.youtube.com. Thus, we have embedded here in our blog the videos. Hope you'd enjoy watching this video made by the riskymathicsflacktrese group - participants of the Tuho and Main Carah group under TraditionalGames@VirtualHomestay managed by Mrs. Koh Caiyu. Please don't forget to leave your comments about our videos! And just a healthy reminder: No Flaming please. Let us follow proper netiquette. Arigatou Gozaimasu!

February 21-25, 2009

Sure enough, the following days would surely be a trouble for the members in our group since most of us would be going out for a pile of contests and club activities. Luckily, we have received the converted copy of our raw videos just this February 20 so the group wasted no time and started checking on the videos. We were disappointed for a moment because an interminable part of one traditional game was overwritten that's why we had big sighs over the matter but forgot about it soon enough because of the notion that our group needs to move on with or without that video. We have decided that it's better off if we would just think of alternatives with such an unfortunate event. That's why we've spent a part of out time from February 21-25 for video editing purposes. We really had a great time doing such for video editing makes us more enthusiastic and we could also perceive that such activity is one of our fortes while we're in school. This is why we really enjoy fulfilling the projects in the TraditionalGames@VirtualHomestay because as expected, most of us had a really good time being part of the project, having known that we have the passion over such activities - that is, making documentaries.

Happy valentines Day bloggers! Though, today lovers are lurking around this hearts day, we weren't a bit hindered with our priority of making use of this Saturday for the documentation of the different traditional games. We met at GSIS Heights in one our group member's house, Kevyn MontaƱa, and having known that the day wasn't an ordinary day - for it's valentines day - it was till 3 hours after the decided time of meeting up that all of us has arrived in the said place. For video capturing purposes, Jovani Tomale became our camera man as well as the documentation director.
We played our games in GSIS Elementary School where in we coincidentally met the school's principal while we were at their gym. We could have been said to be intruders in the said institution but gladly, the principal had a very understanding heart and gave us the permission in using the facilities that they can offer us. Luckily, the skies cooperated with us and we were able to successfully finish documenting all three games. We finished taping at 4 in the afternoon. It really had been a very tiring day, but in spite all of these, this day really made our valentines day a memorable one.

Though the weather's a little weird, we're still very happy because classes were suspended. In spite of this "suspension of class for today and tomorrow" announcement, all of us had similar thoughts that we have no time to waste. During our ICT time, we then grouped ourselves into diads and some are into triads and made the game procedures and game rules for each traditional game, It is a good thing that all of us were able to do our assigned tasks very well having known that we had ample computers for eah pair. The group members have decided that we shall meet on Saturday. Everyone's enthusiastic over the "to-be-done" Saturday affair for its February the 14th, valentines day, and the group members shall have all the reasons to sneak out to their beloved dates. Well, kidding aside, it had been long since us, 4th year students ever played in the field that's why you could expect that the members of this group are really looking forward the games we'll be playing on Saturday.

February 11, 2009

Well, this post was written in February 12, 2009 due to some unexpected circumstances. But, as far as our memory could recall, yesterday, the members were again gathered because of some major changes that the majority of us suggested. Having known that we only have 3 weeks left before the finals and a bunch of projects and stuffs to be dealt with other subjects as well as our affiliate clubs, we were able to come up with the decision of canceling our plans for having the IV-Abad Santos students as our correspondents and having known of their hectic schedules - for they are also participating in different aec-asef collaborative programs- we discarded the plan and decided that we, ourselves shall be the one's playing the traditional games - Patintero , Tumbang Preso and Luksong Tinik for documentation purposes. We are hoping that tomorrow would be a lucky day for us to start with our plan.

It had been a busy day. All of our group mates had a hard time researching for the origin of the said games. We have convened during our ICT time, trying our best to decide whether we are to pursue our last plans of the said games or to research again and find another game replacements. Our group has looked towards the practicalities and we have decided that there's a dire need for us to change some parts of the mechanics for us to move on with the project. Jovani Tomale was tasked to bring the video camera for documentation purposes for the following day. We shall begin documenting the game Patintero and our players would be the IV-Abad Santos students. It is with dire aspiration that everyone will cooperate and well-planned. The members are hoping for everyone to have fun and enjoy this activity.

Sadly, we have been idle today. We could only report about the group members waiting for another confirmation message from the project's manager for us to proceed with playing and documenting the said games. Our correspondents would be the IV-ABAD SANTOS students. But the group is also looking forward meeting different students who are interested to join and play with us for documentation purposes. Till Tomorrow!
